Being a bartender can be hard! Remembering tons of combinations that work, and tons that do not. Fortunately, with Mixology from Howcast, becoming a master bartender is as easy as watching a couple videos.
Mixology is an app created by Howcast, a trusted how-to website. The app will lead you through the steps to becoming a master bartender. From creating mixed drinks, to actually choosing the best liquor to stock; the app allows you to become the bartender we all want to be. Mixology is very simplistic and easy to use; upon opening the app, you will see around 10 sections, from bar basics to the art of drinking. Inside each section are about fifteen easy to watch videos that show you what to do. This is one of my favorite parts of the app, the videos are short, sweet, and get to the point very quickly. And with recipes divided up by liquors, finding your favorite is super easy.
Functionality inside the app is pretty straightforward; you find the section with the recipe of your type of drink and then you watch the videos to learn how to make it! You can track your progress using the progress bar to see which videos you have watched, star and mark your favorites, and even go at your own pace throughout the lessons. The only problem I had with the app was that, unfortunately, you can not save videos for later. It would have been a great feature to be able to save a video for when you do not have Internet.
Mixology is great app with its simplistic design and easy to watch videos. It really does allow you to become a great bartender, and will only further my alcoholism (just kidding, I don’t drink that much). It joins a great set of apps designed by Howcast and their community, and for only $0.99, it is definitely worth the investment.
