Review

I don’t know about you, but I hate fruit. Seriously, I never eat enough of it and it always spoils before I can; it’s a waste of money. I wish there was a way to get revenge…oh, there is! With Fruit Ninja HD, I can satisfy my lust to destroy fruit…without all the messy cleanup.

Fruit Ninja HD has an amazing UI, the entire interface is very easy to navigate. There’s nothing to it, just slash the fruit to get to the menu! There’s not much in terms of actual menu navigation here; just 4 main sections: single player, multiplayer, settings, and achievements. Speaking of achievements, this is something that really makes the game worth playing over and over. There are an ever increasing number of achievements that are really fun and worthwhile to get. Along with achievements, you can also customize your “blade” as well as your background; this makes unlocking everything really fun.

Fruit Ninja HD is a great game, the level of polish put in to this game is astonishing. It’s very obvious that the developers have put a lot of effort into not only the UI, but the gameplay. The game is easy to pick up and play, but will also keep you so addicted that you’ll lose track of time. The objective of the game is to slash through an onslaught of fruit as it flys across the screen, but one must be careful to not hit any bombs that are also being flung. There are 3 separate game modes inside Fruit Ninja: Classic, which follows the normal objective; Zen, an easier, slower-pace game that has no bombs and a 90 second time limit; and Arcade, which is a mix between Classic and Arcade with special power-ups. As well as the 3 single player modes, there are also multiplayer modes. 2 are split screen multiplayer modes: Classic and Zen modes; the last uses Game Center to choose an opponent online to play against.

Clearly, the game is awesome. Fruit Ninja HD is one of the best games I’ve ever played on the iPad. I can’t honestly see anything wrong at all with this game. With the level of polish and fun gameplay, this game will most definitely go down as one of the must-have iPad games of all time.
